Shoulder Faculty 2024

Dr Levi Morse has recently been involved as faculty at various shoulder conferences. He returned as faculty to the Royal North Shore Symposium in Sydney, presenting on his approach in the management of rotator cuff and biceps pathology. He was also part of only a select group of shoulder surgeons across Australia invited to be trained in the “Mixed Reality Glenoid Guidance” technique in Sydney. This is very exciting and cutting edge surgery (incorporating intra-operative virtual reality technology) that Dr Morse will be using to improve accuracy and patient outcomes in Shoulder Replacement patients.

Orthopaedic Outreach to Wewak, PNG

Dr Morse continues to participate in volunteer work in PNG through Orthopaedic Outreach, the humanitarian arm of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (www.orthoreach.org). He completed 2 trips during 2023, with ongoing bi-annual trips planned. Both trips in 2023 were to Wewak, the capital of the East Sepik Province. The primary aim was to assist Dr Jenny Tovu, a local PNG surgeon who completed an observership with Dr Morse in late 2022. A week was spent for each trip to provide teaching, education and Orthopaedic services.

Hosting PNG Surgeon in Townsville

Dr Morse recently hosted Dr Jenny Tovu, a PNG Surgeon, for 3 months in Townsville. Dr Tovu was required to complete an overseas observership as part of her local Orthopaedic studies. It was a pleasure hosting Jenny, and Dr Morse plans to visit her home-town (Wewak, PNG) to volunteer in 2023.
